Life Lessons From Zootopia

I felt like I was the last person on the face of the earth to watch Zootopia until a friend said she hasn’t seen it. So that would make me second to the last person? Plus made me wonder about our friendship and that thing they say about birds and feathers and flying. Fill in the gap.

Anyway, that’s not what this post is about. This is about the lessons I picked from the movie. This isn’t a review but I loved it so much that I had to do a post about it. I’ll try not to drop any spoilers in the event that, by any chance, there are still some people like my friend and me who are lazy movie watchers like to save stuff for later. So without further ado, let us begin. (more…)

Adaora Mbelu-Dania: Dauntless

I wrote here a while back that I would do a post on the amazing people who inspire me, so in the spirit of sharing, here goes! So I decided to do a series of posts because putting them all in one post would result in one very long post that well, the length might chase y’all away. For the longest time, right from my days in Secondary school, I always had people tell me I look like Adesuwa Onyenokwe (I’m serious, don’t roll your eyes). (more…)

Hurdles

I am participating in the Writing Contest: You Deserve to be Inspired. Hosted by Positive Writer. This is a part of my story I hardly ever share, willingly, and I can count on one hand how many times I actually have. But reading that article on Positive Writer and reading and being inspired by so many entries, I have decided to share mine. Maybe, just maybe, someone might be inspired by mine.

I was going to have an extra year. All the moments leading up to this had shown clearly that this would be the outcome. It was inevitable. (more…)
